Stefania Boccia is Deputy Research Director of the IRCCS, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli (FPG) IRCCS in Rome.

Prof. Boccia is Full Professor of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome.

She’s Director of the Research Facility Epidemiology and Biostatistics at G-Step, FPG IRCCS.

She’s President of the Public Health Epidemiology Department of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and the Woman Health Center for Digital and Personalized Medicine of UCSC.

Since 2021, she’s been Alternate in the Mission Sub-group “Cancer” of the Commission Expert Group in Public Health, European Commission (EC).

Additionally, she is the Coordinator of the following projects funded by the EC: “A PeRsOnalized Prevention roadmap for the future HEalThcare” (PROPHET) project, funded by Horizon Europe of the EC, HORIZON-HLTH-2021- STAYHLTH-01;“European network staff eXchange for integrAting precision health in the health Care sysTems- ExACT” project, funded by the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (H2020), RISE project-Marie Curie Actions,  and partner of  9 projects funded by the EC; she is the coordinator of 4 national projects and partner of 2 national projects.

In the past years she coordinated the Personalized PREvention of Chronic Diseases project (PRECeDI, EU-H2020 MSCA- RISE), for which she obtained a recognition from the ICPerMed Consortium.

Prof. Boccia is the author of over 300 scientific papers related to the topics of personalized medicine and healthcare policies about prevention, epidemiology and tumor prevention, epidemiological methodology, health services, genomics in public health.

She is Editor of European Journal of Public Health, Associate Editor of the European Journal of Epidemiology. Advisory Board Member of the Lancet Regional Health- Europe.
