Professor Mario Rasetti is Professor Emeritus of Theoretical Physics at the Politecnico di Torino, where he founded and directed the Doctorate School. Dr. Rasetti, founder and former President of the ISI Foundation (Istituto Interscambio Scientifico), servers now as Chairman of the Science Board of the CENTAI Institute (Center for Artificial Intelligence) and is an Advisor of the European Commission. His research activity is currently focused on statistical mechanics, quantum information, computation and “Big Data.” In 2011, he was awarded the Majorana Prize for field theory as well as the Volta Medal.
